Following a victory over the scorching Orlando Magic, the Nets had three days to rest before a dance with the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
This is an important one. The Hawks are beatable, and then Brooklyn hosts the lowly Wizards before a five-game road trip against the Kings, Suns, Nuggets, Warriors, and Jazz. Sheesh.
One game at a time...
WHO: Brooklyn Nets (10-9) at Atlanta Hawks (9-10)
WHEN: 7:30 PM ET
WHERE: YES Network (TV); WFAN-FM (Radio)
Injuries: No Ben Simmons. Dorian Finney-Smith ought to be back tonight after missing Saturday’s game. But Lonnie Walker IV is dealing with a left hamstring strain and that promises to keep him out for at least the next week and change. It’s game 20 and the Nets have yet to have a clean injury report.
Jalen Johnson is out for a while due to a left distal radial fracture. Kobe Bufkin is out due to a left thumb fracture. Mouhamed Gueye is out due to a right lower back stress fracture.
The Game: The center matchup should be fun. Nic Claxton has continued to impress and has been a two way force for this Nets ballclub. Claxton’s presence at the rim and when the Nets get on the break makes things easier for his teammates and presents new opportunities for them to work with. The Hawks’ duo of Onyeka Okongwu and Clint Capela will battle with Claxton on the inside and hopefully push him into foul trouble.
