Nets preseason opens in L.A. with Lakers, includes home games vs. Bucks, T’Wolves

The Nets will open preseason in Los Angeles vs. the Lakers on October 3 — six days after landing in San Diego for the opening of training camp, the team announced Tuesday.

The Lakers game will be one of four this off-season which will also include a rematch of the Eastern Conference semi-finals on October 8 when the Bucks come to Brooklyn.

Although the team hasn’t officially announced that camp will be held in San Diego, home of co-owner Joe and Clara Wu Tsai, league sources have confirmed a NetsDaily report on July 19.

The Nets will reportedly hold Media Day in Brooklyn on September 27, then fly to San Diego for the opening of camp the next day. From there, it’s a short ride up to Staples Center for the October 3 opener vs. the NBA’s other “Big Three,” LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis.

The NBA has yet to release its regular season schedule. It is expected in the next week or so.

YES Network will have preseason coverage as it begins its 20th season broadcasting Nets Basketball. No word on how many of the preseason games will be aired on YES.
