The Nets have yet to announce their preseason schedule, but considering that the team opens training camp on September 28, it seems like the game in L.A. will be their preseason opener as well.
Is it shocking the Nets will open 3,000 miles from Barclays Center? Not so much if you consider where they started the last three seasons: in Montreal vs. the Raptors in 2018; Shanghai vs. the Lakers in 2019 and Boston vs. the Celtics last year.
Meanwhile, it looks like the NBA Draft will provide fans their next chance for Nets fans to cheer the locals at Barclays Center. Nothing official yet but there are indications that the 2021 Draft will be live from Brooklyn. The Draft was virtual last year because of the pandemic. It was the first time since 2010 that the Nets didn’t host the annual event.
