Live Game Thread: Brooklyn Nets at Indiana Pacers, 7:00 PM EST

NBA: Dallas Mavericks at Indiana Pacers Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Nets are rollin’. Winners of five straight, 13 of their last 14. Wednesday night’s opponent, the Indiana Pacers have won just three of their last 10 - but they come into tonight’s matchup with a secret weapon: Caris LeVert.

LeVert returned to action last Saturday, making his Pacers debut against the Suns. A forever fan-favorite of our entire community, it will be tough to root against the Pacers tonight while also rooting for LeVert to go off against us.

A tough spot to be in but also a very, very welcomed “problem” to have.

WHO: Brooklyn Nets (27-13) at Indiana Pacers (17-21)

WHEN: 7:00 PM EST

WHERE: YES (tv), WFAN (radio)

Game Preview.

The Nets didn’t shoot well from three in the first meeting, but it didn’t matter as they crushed the Pacers from the free throw line and were up by as much as 36 points. The Pacers don’t have the horses to keep up with the Nets from deep and on the season, are allowing opponents to shoot 38.3 percent from three, fifth worst in the NBA. Bad, bad mix.

One other thing: the Pacers are now 10th in the East. If they finish 10th, they’ll go into the play-in series for teams that finish 7 through 10. But if they fall out of the playoffs, the Nets are beneficiaries. They’ll finally get the heavily protected second rounder they picked up in the 2016 Draft Night trade that got the Nets ... Caris LeVert. That would give Brooklyn four picks in the 2021 Draft: their own first and three seconds: the Suns, the Hawks and the Suns. Those are trade assets at least.
