I feel like I’ve seen this one before.
Well, hopefully not this one.
The Brooklyn Nets are back at it against the Cavaliers, in Cleveland - again. Coming off a pretty crazy loss on Wednesday where Colin Sexton had himself a game.
Cleveland likely won’t get another 42-point performance from Sexton, though the Nets won’t get an any-points performance from Kevin Durant, because he will be sitting this one out.
Hey, but they still have James Harden and Kyrie Irving, so, that’s still cool.
It will be nice to see Jarrett Allen once again; in that “hey, I miss you” kind of way. No matter what happens tonight, he’s genuinely one of the toughest people to root against.
WHO: Brooklyn Nets (9-7) at Cleveland Cavaliers (7-7)
WHEN: 7:30 PM EST
WHERE: YES (tv), WFAN (radio)
Bickerstaff suggested that the Cavs will have to play better defense themselves, describing Wednesday’s effort. “It got a little leaky in the middle of the floor,” the Cavs coach noted. He also said the Cavs will have to pay more attention to Joe Harris, who scored only six points Wednesday.
“We lost a couple of guys and they missed shots. We gotta pay better attention to guys like Joe Harris because we know he is capable of making shots that he missed some the other night.”
In fact, Harris, coming off the bench, was only 2-of-10.
How will Nets react? Expect more bench play without KD, not just because of the big minutes played by the “Big Three” but also because the Nets will be flying back to Brooklyn for a two game set vs. the Heat, the first Saturday night. Better defense? You’d better hope so.
