With DeAndre Jordan missing the Orlando restart tournament (get well soon, big guy), the Brooklyn Nets are suddenly in a precarious situation: They’ve gotta fill an empty roster spot... like ASAP.
And so, Matt Brooks sat down with G-League reporter extraordinaire ... NetsDaily’s Chris Milholen to discuss some possible replacements. Some of the names mentioned include John Egbunu, Jonathan Kasibabu, Dragan Bender, Donta Hall, Christ Koumadje and Deyonta Davis. The two NetsDaily teammates also discussed two former Long Island Nets and current Orlando tournament roster attendees Justin Anderson and Jeremiah Martin, analyzing what each brings to the table.
The Nets haven’t signed anyone yet. Here’s what Sean Marks had to say Wednesday:
“We look at this as another one of those opportunities,” Marks said talking about the “Bubble.” “Obviously, we won’t have our team at full strength, without a doubt, but it’s a great way to evaluate players moving forward. Maybe some new players coming in and what the roster may look like, you know, in a three, four, six months from now sort of thing.”
Then, on Saturday, Jacque Vaughn said he expects the Nets will replace Jordan with another big, probably soon, noting the Nets will need all the bodies they can get. Vaughn said he spoke with Marks Saturday morning about addressing the Nets lack of size.
