Wit and Wisdom: Spencer Dinwiddie, Twitter superstar, keeping it upbeat

New, comments
NBA: Orlando Magic at Brooklyn Nets Nicole Sweet-USA TODAY Sports

He’s demanded NBA TV post the best clutch shots (including his) ... and they did! He’s jokingly offered to serve as brand ambassador while working from home. He issued a warning to beware of “those that crave power” ... now his pinned tweet; pointed up the fallacy of Tobias Harris criticism of his game and sarcastically addressed the #InsideTraitor scandal involving senators dumping stocks after getting classified briefings on the spread of coronavirus in China.

And through it all, Spencer Dinwiddie has been upbeat, his Twitter presence providing laughs, smirks and knowing nods for his 81,000 followers.

Here’s a sampling, starting with his request for buzzer beaters, one of his specialties...

And some suggestions for April 3, NBA TV’s “Brooklyn Nets Day” ...

Both were accepted by the NBA!

He commented on assistant coach Adam Harrington’s “development” plans for his boys...

And agreed with Harrington’s assessment of the Nets players’ culinary skills...

And when he heard that Tobias Harris had critiqued his game, he would not stay silent. Make sure to click the Instagram link...

Keeping in character, he laughed at a Knicks fan...

But perhaps his best offering was his sarcastic comments on the #InsideTraitor scandal.

And Spencer being Spencer, he offered thoughts about high and low finance, had an online Q. and A. and in general put his free time in quarantine to good use.

Best wishes to him, Arielle and Elijah. And keep rolling out those tweets!
