Well, good thing we have a Leap Day this year because losing to Atlanta in the way the Nets did on Friday night would have been a rough way to close out February.
At least now the Nets get a chance to pick up a huge February road win on Saturday night as they take on Jimmy Butler and the Heat in Miami.
Brooklyn has now dropped to 8th in the East, behind the Orlando Magic, and looking up at the Milwaukee Bucks at top of the standings and an “if the season ended today” date against the best team in the NBA in the first round of the playoffs.
Ouch.
WHO: Brooklyn Nets (26-32) at Miami Heat (37-22)
WHEN: 7:30 PM EST
WHERE: YES Network (tv), WFAN (radio)
Miami won game one in December and Brooklyn won game two in January. This is the last meeting between the two clubs this season.
This is the third game in four nights for Brooklyn, and coming off such a dreadful loss, they’re going to need to summon up every bit of energy they have to pull this off. The difficulty will ratchet up to 20 from here on out.
The Heat are looking pretty different these days. At the deadline, they picked up Andre Iguodala, Jae Crowder, and Solomon Hill from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Justise Winslow, Dion Waiters, and James Johnson. More on Iggy in a bit.
