Three Brooklyn Nets —Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Joe Harris— have been named to USA Basketball’s list of 44 finalists for the U.S. Olympic Team which will defend its 2016 championship at the end of July in Tokyo. Twelve players will be selected to represent the U.S. following tryouts in Las Vegas.
Durant and Irving won the gold in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, in 2016, as did DeAndre Jordan. Harris was a member of Team USA last summer at the FIBA World Cup in China.
Here’s the announcement...
There’s no word yet if KD will even try out for the team. Same with Kyrie. But Harris...
“Oh yeah, 100 percent,” Harris told The Post. “To me, even just playing last year with the World Cup team was an amazing honor, and if I was fortunate enough, then, yes, I would 100 percent commit to it again.
“Even though it does make for a really long offseason, still it’s one of those things that the experience, in my opinion, you can never pass up.”
