The Nets are back on the board. After being the Detroit Pistons - barely - on Saturday night, they head back east to play the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
The Knicks have played better over the last month. More than anything, though, if the Nets want to be a playoff team this year they have to win games like this. Even if it’s a back-to-back road set.
Brooklyn has to pick up some ground and Sunday is a perfect opportunity for them to get back on track.
WHO: Brooklyn Nets (19-25) at the New York Knicks (12-35)
WHEN: 6:00 PM EST
WHERE: YES Network (tv), WFAN (radio), MSG (live)
And after his monster game Saturday, Kyrie Irving will make his first visit to the Garden after he decided Brooklyn was the better borough. The Jersey guy talked about how, as a young Nets fan, he would anticipate games between the cross-river rivals.
Irving (along with Jarrett Allen) played 40 minutes vs. the Pistons so look for Kenny Atkinson and the performance team to watch playing time. Atkinson did hold both Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Rodions Kurucs out in Detroit and if Jordan plays, that would give him three fresh rotation players.
WIlson Chandler (31) also had a season-high in minutes.
