Nets players and their families will get to open their presents in peace on Christmas morning ... but none of them will be an NBA game on the big holiday schedule.
In a series of tweets, Adrian Wojnarowski and ESPN writers Tim MacMahon and Malika Andrews laid out the five games scheduled for Christmas:
There was no word on the games’ order.
The NBA schedule is expected to be released in the next week. Normally, the NBA releases its Christmas Day schedule and list of national TV games prior to the announcement of the full season schedule.
Meanwhile, Shams Charania reports separately that Kyrie Irving will make his return to TD Garden on November 27.
The Nets haven’t appeared on the NBA Christmas schedule since 2013 when they featured Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Fans and no doubt players believed the acquisition of Irving and Kevin Durant this summer would change that, but for whatever reason — KD’s unavailability?— they were once again shut out. Also shut out were the Knicks who were a Christmas Day regular, but had the NBA’s worst record last season.
