Nets release preseason schedule —four games including two in China

Mercedes Benz Center, Shanghai

As expected —and reported piecemeal— the Nets will play four preseason games but only two in New York, one each at Barclays Center, the opener on October 4, and at Nassau Coliseum, the closer on October 18.

The preseason schedule also includes two games vs. the Lakers. For the first time since 2015, the Nets and Knicks will not play against each other in preseason.

The preseason schedule tips off on Oct. 4 when the Nets host Franca Basquete of Brazil at Barclays Center. Franca was the runner-up in the Brazilian national league championships last season. Their top young player, Marcos Louzada Silva aka “Didi”, was drafted by the Hawks in the second round of the 2019 Draft.

Brooklyn will then travel to China for the NBA China Games 2019 , with games against the Lakers on October 10 in Shanghai at the Mercedes Benz Center (pictured) and October 12 in Shenzhen at the Dayun Arena. The Nets will be playing in China for the third time after playing in Beijing and Guangzhou in 2010, and in Beijing and Shanghai in 2014.

Brooklyn will complete its preseason slate by hosting the defending NBA Champions Raptors at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale on Long Island October 18.

All games will start at 7:30 p.m. local time, meaning the China games will start at 7:30 a.m. ET

Tickets for the October 4 game at Barclays Center go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m., and tickets to the October. 18 game on Long Island are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased at brooklynnets.com and ticketmaster.com, or by calling 718-NETS-TIX.
