Three Long Island Nets invited to NBA camp

Jordan McLaughlin, Tahjere McCall, and Thomas Wimbush played key roles in the Long Island Nets’ run to the G League Finals.

Now, the trio will be among 40 G League’s top prospects from last season who’ll participate in the G League Elite Camp, which will take place May 12-14 at Quest Multisport in Chicago.

McLaughlin averaged 15 points and five assists, almost all of its off the bench. McCall was a defensive standout and averaged 11.2 points while Wimbush filled in admirably for Mitchell Creek in the G League playoffs, averaging 19.5 points in the last four games.

The three are NBA free agents.

The three-day event will give G League prospects — as well as 40 college players eligible for the 2019 NBA Draft — an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. The event will also continue to give top NBA G League prospects from the previous season a chance to be evaluated.

In addition to permitting NBA teams an opportunity to scout the top G League players, the camp is part of the winnowing process for the Draft Combine.
