It was an interesting day online.
It started with a Knicks fan trolling Spencer Dinwiddie, suggesting that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will sign with the Knicks. So what, Dinwiddie replied...
IF that happens... we’d still be the best team in NY ♂️ https://t.co/XftD0J94lN

Knick fans tried to troll the guy with a SAT score of 1400. Didn’t work...
Technically this will probably total 5yrs and roughly 38secs of attention https://t.co/dL4JMoYfSk

Then, he explained how it works...
@nyknicks fans trippin again. If y’all don’t want the truth stop tweeting me first . Y’all said it was cap last year when I told the truth.
— Spencer Dinwiddie (@SDinwiddie_25) May 22, 2019
So I’ll tell y’all like y’all told me last year, “whoever won the series from last year is the better team. Gotta beat us first” https://t.co/b4zWHr7AWW
Not, the normal exchange you expect between a player and a rival team’s fans.
Then again, he’s following a Nets tradition. You remember Richard Jefferson’s comments on one of his first YES broadcasts about how he and the Nets teams of the early 2000’s loved beating the Knicks.
He was at it again this morning on ESPN talking about those same rumors. Panetlists were asked to predict where the top free agents will wind up. Here are their projections.

Then, the discussion got underway. RJ was having none of this Knicks-as-favorite narrative. The Knicks and the Garden, he more than suggested, were and are overrated.
Brian Lewis chronicled it all on Twitter...
Richard Jefferson – on Jalen & Jacoby – not surprisingly said Kevin Durant should join the #Nets over the #Knicks: “I think that you could get all the attention and love that you can with the Knicks. But you’re going to a stable franchise." #nyk @KDTrey5 #NBA
— Brian Lewis (@NYPost_Lewis) May 22, 2019
He went on...
Jefferson: “The Knicks, the Garden they have their own allure. But if you’re focused on basketball & focused on winning, the #Knicks aren’t the best place for you because they havent won in 40 years. So don’t tell me that you’re only focused on winning & then go the Knicks”

And on...
Richard Jefferson: " “But it’s the Garden!” Yeah, he can play in the Garden twice a year. We used to go play in the Garden and destroy the #Knicks and laugh at them, and go party in the city all night. That’s what we used to do. That was our favorite thing.” #nyk #Nets #NBA

Until...
If RJ hasn't trolled his way to a Garden ban yet, Dolan is slipping. https://t.co/V8rAgvxFJQ
— Brian Lewis (@NYPost_Lewis) May 22, 2019
James Dolan’s evil alter ego chimed in, too...
I heard @Rjeff24, a complete shill for the Nets, said some nasty things about the Knicks. If you remember the Nets in the playoffs, then you know the problem is, he is a choker, and once a choker, always a choker! Mr. Meltdown. https://t.co/WLziUIb1nB

Expect a lot more of this through July 1.
