Caris LeVert, Nicolas Claxton ‘close’ to returning

Whatever “close” means, Caris LeVert is there.

Here’s Kenny Atkinson Monday afternoon in Houston...

Of course, this is the third time Atkinson has used virtually the same language to describe LeVert’s status. The Nets play the Mavericks in Dallas on Thursday, then return home for an early Saturday evening game vs. the Raptors before returning to the road on Monday in Orlando.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Claxton’s hamstring injury is not seen as a long term issue, reports Alex Schiffer.

LeVert has missed 22 straight games, Claxton eight. No word on Kyrie Irving who is not traveling with the team, choosing to continue his shoulder rehab back in Brooklyn. No word as well on what the Nets plan to do with David Nwaba who’s out for the season.
