Deadlines and Commitments - No. 141

Decision time approaches. December 15 is a double deadline. The Nets need to dump a player as Wilson Chandler’s suspension ends and players who were signed in the off-season can now be traded. So Sean Marks will have a lot of flexibility.

December 6 - Last day a player can be traded and be eligible for a second trade at the deadline ... unless it’s in a one-for-one. Under CBA, teams cannot deal players for 90 days after they were acquired in a trade. The 2020 trade deadline is February 6. So any player traded after December 6 can’t be traded again this season.

December 15 - Wilson Chandler’s suspension ends. At that point, the Nets will have to waive a player to get back to 15, either him, Iman Shumpert, or another player. The Nets could also trade Chandler. And it all could happen prior to December 15.

— Free agents signed in the summer —Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Garrett Temple, Wilson Chandler, Theo Pinson and David Nwaba— can be traded. The first two will not be traded.

December 19-22 - MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase (Las Vegas). GMs gather in Las Vegas and talk.

January 5 - NBA 10-day contracts may now be signed ... if a team has a roster opening.

January 8 - Rodions Kurucs back in court on domestic assault charges. The judge in the case could set a court date.

January 10 - All standard NBA contracts are guaranteed for the remainder of the season.

January 15 - Last day to sign NBA Two-Way contracts. If Nets have an opening and decide to elevate one of their two-ways, they can sign a new two-way.

January 20 - NBA Two-Way contracts are guaranteed for the remainder of the season.

February 6 - NBA Trade Deadline (3 p.m. ET)

February 14-16 - NBA All-Star 2020 (Chicago, IL)

February 27 - NBA G League Trade Deadline (3 p.m. ET)

March 1 - NBA Playoff Eligibility Waiver Deadline. The buyout deadline. Players who are not on an NBA roster by day’s end are eligible to sign with a team and play in post-season.

March 28 - G League regular season ends.

March 31 - Earliest possible start date for G League Playoffs.

April 15 - NBA Regular Season ends.

April 17 - Rosters set for NBA Playoffs 2020 (3 p.m. ET)

April 18 - NBA Playoffs 2020 begin.

May 19 - NBA Draft Lottery 2020 (Chicago).

June 25 - NBA Draft 2020 (Barclays Center).
