The Brooklyn Nets are home to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, one night after losing to the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night, on the road. Yikes.
Philadelphia (20-7) is on a roll, while Brooklyn sits just above water. Still no Kyrie Irving for the Nets, and the 76ers will be without Joel Embiid. Al Horford, who’s been out for the last two games, will play.
Expect nothing but a battle in this one, but the Nets are going to need someone - or, someones - to step up big time if they want to compete.
WHO: Brooklyn Nets (13-12) vs. Philadelphia 76ers (20-7)
WHEN: 6:00 PM EST
WHERE: YES Network (tv), WCBS (radio), Barclays Center (live)
Back in April, the Nets couldn’t contain Joel Embiid in the first round of the playoffs. The result was a first-round exit in five games at the hands of the 76ers. Embiid treated Allen so roughly that at one point in Game 4, Jared Dudley intervened and pushed Embiid, starting a fracas between the two teams.
Allen redeemed himself a bit in that game, going for 21 and 8 but Embiid 31 and 16 with six blocks. Allen of course is stronger this season, garnering 10 rebounds in nine straight games. Plus he had DeAndre Jordan as his back-up. It should be interesting underneath.
