Long Island Nets waive Joe Cremo, Ismael Sanogo, finalize opening day roster

The Long Island Nets have finalized their 12-man opening day roster, waiving guard Joe Cremo and forward Ismael Sanogo. Both are former Big East players, Cremo at Villanova, Sanogo at Seton Hall.

The Nets had until Thursday to make the final cut.

The 12-man roster included Nets two-way players Henry Ellenson and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot. The breakdown of the roster consists of seven guards, three forwards, and one center. Three members of the final roster were local tryouts meaning that they paid a $175 registration fee to participate in a tryout, either in Long Island or Brooklyn.

Overall, the Long Island club has four players with more than 300 games of NBA experience, led by Luwawu-Cabarrot’s 171.

The Long Island Nets open their season, away, playing the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Pacers affiliate, on Saturday, November 9. Following their season opener, the Nets return to Uniondale Monday for their home opener at Nassau Coliseum. They’ll play the College Park Skyhawks, Atlanta’s affiliate, on Monday at 7 p.m.
