Special G League Edition.
Long Island Nets action heats up this week, with Media Day on Wednesday and Opening Night on Friday. Long Island which made the G League Finals last year, look strong again this season, with Nicolas Claxton likely to join a deep roster headed up by four players with 300+ games of NBA experience: Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Henry Ellenson, C. J. Williams and Deng Adel.
In Brooklyn, the Nets can currently sign a replacement player with Wilson Chandler suspension now past five games. So far, nothing.
So here’s your calendar...
November 6 - Long Island Nets Media Day.
November 7 - Rosters set for G League Opening Day (5 p.m. ET)
November 9 - G League opens with Long Island Nets facing the Mad Ants in Fort Wayne. Two days later, it’s the College Park Skyhawks at Nassau Coliseum. Long Island is the Eastern Conference defending champions.
November 15 - First of two Kyrie Irving jersey giveaway nights at Long Island Nets “opening weekend.”
November 19 - Next hearing in Rodions Kurucs’ domestic abuse case. Prosecutors have a 90-day deadline for providing evidence to defendants under state law. Kurucs was arrested on September 3.
December 15 - Free agents signed in the summer —Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Garrett Temple, Wilson Chandler, Theo Pinson and David Nwaba— can be traded. The first two will not be traded.
—Wilson Chandler’s suspension ends. At that point, the Nets will have to waive a player to get back to 15, either him, his replacement or another player. The Nets could also trade Chandler.
