Kevin Durant unboxes latest sneaker and it’s tech+footwear

On Wednesday, the two-time Finals MVP and 10 time All-Star (who now plays for the Brooklyn Nets) unboxed the latest edition of his Nike signature sneaker, the “KD12 YouTube,” in a video posted on his channel.

As his introductory video shows, it’s a combination of tech and footwear...

Close-up 360 describes the shoe this way:

The red-and-white colorway features “YouTube” and “Kevin Durant” branding on the tongues, along with patterning comprised of video console buttons and “Skip Ad” printed on the rise-top heel tag.

The 10-time All-Star, nine-time All-NBA performer and four-time scoring champion has been involved with YouTube since early 2017, during his first season with the Warriors. In February 2017, he visited the company’s headquarters in San Bruno, California for a speaking engagement. On April 7 of that year, he posted his first livestream to YouTube. Since then, KD’s YouTube channel has accumulated more than 772,000 subscribers and more than 33 million video views.

The KD12 “YouTube” will go on sale for $150 on October 26 as part of Nike’s opening week collection, along with new signature sneakers by Giannis Antetokounmpo, Paul George and teammate Kyrie Irving.

Durant’s sneakers are best sellers worldwide, with more sold last year in China than North America.
