Well, as we just learned, things can change pretty quickly around Barclays Center. The Nets will not have Dwight Howard to kick around anymore and the Draft is now only a few hours away.

The Nets will still have the 29th and 40th picks. They will also pick at 45th, but that choice will be directed by the Hornets who will officially acquire the rights to the pick on July 6 when the Howard trade and presumably the buyout will be finalized.

We take a look at only those mock drafts that are still being updated Thursday, rather than the usual list. And even in the course of Thursday afternoon, things changed. For example, Jeremy Woo of SI.com changed his choice at 29 from Germany’s 18-year-old swingman Isaac Bonga to Tulane’s Melvin Frazier. And he noted, reports that the Nets have promised a specific player at 29 appear to be untrue.

“There was some talk that the Nets may have promised this pick; it seems that isn’t the case. Brooklyn will likely find a roster player for next season at this spot,” Woo wrote.

One Nets prospect getting a lot of attention from pundits is 6’9” small forward Jarred Vanderbilt, a five-star high school recruit a year ago who suffered leg injuries at Kentucky and played only 17 games. He’s increasingly shown up as a Nets selection in recent mocks and Woo noted, “The Nets are rumored to have interest in Vanderbilt.”
