Brooklyn Nets at Charlotte Hornets Live Game Thread: That was weird, let’s do it again.

NBA: Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets Andy Marlin-USA TODAY Sports

WHO: Brooklyn Nets (17-19) at Charlotte Hornets (16-17)

WHAT: The Nets, winners of 9 of their las 10, played (and won) a weird one against the Hornets on Wednesday night at home - so, why not head to Charlotte and do it all over again?!

WHERE: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, NC

WHEN: 7:00 p.m. EST

HOW: YES, FSSE-CHA; NBA League Pass

THE STORY: Game Preview

Brooklyn had trouble with Charlotte’s backcourt, with Kemba going for 35 and Jeremy Lamb 31. The Hornets, and especially Kemba, are going to be gunning for a revenge win on friday and it’s going to be imperative the Nets contain them as much as possible. I’m not sure if the box-and-one is a strategy worth implementing from the tip, but if Kemba starts heating up again it will absolutely be worth going back to until he’s quelled.

The Hornets are sneakily deep, and guys like Marvin Williams, Nic Batum, and Tony Parker all hit big shots and made big plays at some point in the game. It’s a veteran team, which actually makes the Nets win all the more impressive. Remember, the average age of the Nets starting lineup is 22.4 years old. Charlotte is not bad by any means. They’re well coached, seem to gel together as a unit, and have an All-Star caliber leader. This means they’re going to bring it in the rematch. They’re more resilient than say, the Wizards, for example. And they’re back at home.

The Nets will be ready though. This is a team finally getting a taste of real, sustained winning which can be a powerful thing. Let’s hope they get a little addicted.
