Every version of the Brooklyn Nets’ rotations this season has had Kenneth Faried on the outside looking in.
And on Sunday – an off-day for the Nets after a back-to-back – Faried took exception.
The Newark native responded to his lack of playing time on Instagram. It started with the Nets official Instagram account posting a video highlighting Faried’s eight points in garbage time vs. the Wizards Saturday.
Faried proceeded to like comments from fans calling for the team to “Unleash the Manimal.”
As writer Jac Manuell notes on Twitter, not all of the posts Faried liked were positive.

Noticeably, the third Instagram comment Faried liked refers to teammate Jared Dudley as a “bum,” while also expressing a desire to see more of Faried.
Dudley responded..
Every player in the NBA should want more playing time.. Were competitors, But at the same time were also professionals and have conduct ourselves as so.. https://t.co/fNr4tOdfcg

Faried, 29, is on an expiring contract, making $13.8 million this season.
He was acquired back in July from Denver in a salary dump along with Darrell Arthur and two picks, a first rounder in 2019 that’s protected 1-12, and a second rounder in 2020 that’s unprotected.
Brooklyn then turned around and in another salary dump acquired Dudley and a lightly protected second in 2021 from the Suns for Arthur. Phoenix later released Arthur.
This season, Faried has made eight appearances, logging 5.6 minutes per contest, almost exclusively in garbage time. He has posted 3.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.
