Mozgov talks Brooklyn’s playoffs chances: “I think we can make it”

Timofey Mozgov discussed D’Angelo Russell and his thoughts on the Nets chances at a playoff run.

Brooklyn Nets

Add Timofey Mozgov to the line of optimistic Nets ... and those who think D'Angelo Russell will have a big year.

Mozgov is currently competing in the 2017 EuroBasket for his homeland Russia. TASS writer Andrey Kartashov asked Mozgov about D’Angelo Russell and Brooklyn’s chances at a playoff run. Kartashov who writes for TASS — a big Russian news agency -- approached NetsDaily for questions to ask the 7-footer.

“He’s going to score a lot,” Mozgov replied when asked about expectations for D’Angelo Russell. “He’s going to shoot three' a lot because he’s a really, really good shooter. He’s really talented and I hope he’s going to feed me,” Mozgov said as he starts to chuckle.

He continued with an optimistic approach when asked about the playoffs.

“I think we can make it, but it’s a long run.”

It may not be as powerful as Jeremy Lin’s statements, but nobody on the team is shying away from the “p” word just yet. Not to mention, we haven’t heard much from Mozgov this offseason, so it’s good to hear his thoughts. We’re certainly ready to see Russell feed him, as we’ve pointed out.

As for EuroBasket play, Mozgov has played two games and has scored 31 points on 16 shots. He’ll have his hands full with Kristaps Porzingis as Russia plays Latvia on Tuesday.
