D’Angelo Russell’s wasn’t in the city long before he was visiting HSS Training Center, working out alone. He was there early Sunday, shooting alone before linking up with his new teammates at Barclays Center in the afternoon for the BIG3 inaugural event.
Then, early Monday morning, he posted a video. Was it a second trip to HSS? Or just a video of his first visit? It doesn’t matter. It went viral.
Nothing more than 40 seconds of dribbling and shooting but by 7 a.m., it had attracted 300,000 views and 3,000 likes, mostly from the west coast no doubt. By 7:30, it was up to 315,000 and rising fast.
The video likely has a short shelf life. It will soon be replaced, no doubt, by one from the Nets account. He and Timofey Mozgov will appear at a press conference Monday morning, starting at 10:30 a.m.
A press conference you won't want to miss.
