Nets show the flag at Euroleague game

New, comments

The whole gang was at the Euroleague quarter-finals Thursday in Moscow. And if you were playing, you couldn’t help notice.

First, there was a Eurohoops tweet showing Mikhail Prokhorov and Nets director Sergey Kushchenko watching the game ...and CSKA star Milos Teodosic... from courtside. That’s CSKA president Andrei Vatutin on the left. (Looks like Nets Chair Dmitry Razumov in the upper left, too)

Then, David Pick, the hoops writer who regularly tracks Sean Marks’ European itineraries, tweeted out a picture of the Nets GM and Kenny Atkinson, also sitting courtside and looking very serious.

CSKA went up 2-0 in the series, beating Baskonia with a roster of former Nets, 84-82.

Marks and Atkinson confirmed Monday they would be in Moscow to review with Prokhorov and Razumov the Nets plans for the off-season. Trajan Langdon, Marks’ deputy, is also in Europe. Marks also admitted that in addition to meetings, he and Atkinson would do “some scouting” and that Teodosic is “a terrific player,” but that he wouldn’t be the only European player they’d be looking at.

But as we’ve noted before, this goes beyond scouting. The Nets are showing Teodosic some love.
