Long Island loses as Alexander, Hunter get DNP’s

Long Island Nets

Maybe they were resting. Cliff Alexander and R.J. Hunter had a DNP-CD Wednesday afternoon in Oklahoma City. After all, the Long Island Nets are on their own condensed “circus trip” ... four road games in six days, a real oddity in the D-League.

Or, or, or. Maybe. Was it something else?

In any event, Long Island missed its two top scorers, losing to the OKC Blue, 98-92. Trahson Burrell, Long Island’s 6’7” Swiss Army Knife, finished with 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting. He also grabbed five rebounds, handed out four assists and threw down two monster dunks.

J.J. Moore had 21; and Tim Quarterman, the Blazer point guard on assignment to Long Island, had a double-double, 12 points and 10 assists. The LSU product shot 2-of-9 from three. Egidijus Mockevicius finished with 14 rebounds.

Reggie Williams, the 31-year-old swingman, led 23.
