Jeremy Lin teams up with One Day’s Wages to empower girls

NBA: Brooklyn Nets at Denver Nuggets Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Jeremy Lin is widely known for his leadership on and off the court. His words are loud, but his actions speak even louder.

His latest actions speak loud and clear, as Lin will team up with One Day’s Wages to raise awareness regarding girls education.

"Millions of girls across the globe are unable to get the education they need to provide for themselves and their families. This is due to unaffordable school fees, forced child marriage, lack of sanitary products when they reach puberty, and many other barriers. My hope is to shed some light on these issues, and invite you to join me in taking action," Lin wrote on the One Day’s Wages website.

So, in doing his part, Lin will donate his game check on March 17 from the Boston Celtics game. One day’s wage for Lin would amount to about $140,000. With that, he’ll also donate $100 for every 3-pointer he makes this season. The online goal is $200,000.

The team of Lin and One Day’s Wages has already raised a good amount for the cause. If you want to read more about the cause, check it out here.
