Nets unveil “City Edition” jerseys

The Brooklyn Nets and and Nike have revealed the brand new “City Edition” jersey. The design was inspired by the Brooklyn bridge.

This was the teaser explaining the inspiration behind the jerseys.

The Look...

These are the first jerseys the Nets have ever worn with any sort of “pinstripe,” only it’s more a tribute to the wiring on the bridge than it is a reflection of a nearby baseball team. The arched lettering on the front and tower-shaped sides were also based on the bridge towers.

Even more subtle are four dots, each a different color, on the right leg of the shorts. They represent the four subway lines under Barclays Center, red, orange, green and yellow.

This is the second alternate jersey Nike has created since taking over the NBA’s uniforms from Adiddas. The first was the “BKLYN” jerseys that were inspired by Brooklyn’s “Remix” jerseys from last season.
