Deadlines and Commitments - No. 106

The season has begun and for now, barring surprises, there will be few transactions for a while. That’s mainly because around one-fifth of the NBA can’t be traded until December 15. League rules prohibit teams from trading free agents signed during the summer until then. Since the Nets only signed one true free agent, Tyler Zeller, this summer, it has limited effect on the Nets. But for the rest of the league, it limits deals.

Also, in the aftermath of the Jeremy Lin injury, there are deadlines for applying to the NBA for the Disabled Player Exception, then using it.

Not yet scheduled: the Nets introduction of Joseph Tsai, the new minority owner.

We’ve incorporated some G-League dates as well.
