Russell tweaked his knee in Tuesday night’s game against the Orlando Magic. He stayed in the game and both Russell and Kenny Atkinson downplayed it.
#Nets guard D'Angelo Russell tweaked his knee last night but finished the game. Both he & Atkinson had downplayed it.— Brian Lewis (@NYPost_Lewis) October 25, 2017
Last year, however, Russell was plagued with injuries to both his right and left knees. He missed 11 games early in the season because of a sore left knee and received a platelet-rich plasma injection to speed the healing. He missed three games in January due to a right knee injury.
The Nets have not given any further details on the severity of the knee sprain.
