The Nets two reps in the Olympics -- Venezuela's Greivis Vasquez dropped out over the weekend-- now move on to Rio de Janiero for the main event. Croatia plays medal favorite Spain next Sunday at 6 p.m. Argentina plays a surging Nigeria immediately after. NBC Sports will telecast all the Olympic games.
Meanwhile, in an interview with an Argentine hoops site, Bogdanovic spoke about how much he respects his new teammate.
"He is one of the best players from outside North America in the NBA," Bogdanovic told Basquet Plus. "He has had a great career. I am very happy that I'll be in the same uniform as him."
Bogdanovic also was asked about the Nets prospects this season.
"We have many new players, he added. "This season we have a young team and we will try to be better than last year."
Asked if the playoffs are the goal, Bogdanovic replied, "It will be tough but we will fight to get into the playoffs."
