Argentina ran into undefeated Lithuania late Thursday night and came away losers, 71-68.  The Argentines are now 2-1 in group play. Luis Scola scored 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out four assists in the contest, his worst performance to date.

Scola was 5-of-11, including 1-of-3 from deep in 30 minutes. Manu Ginobili scored 22 but missed four crucial free throws late and the blue-and-white couldn't recover at the end.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas, the 6'8" forward the Knicks signed this summer, had a game-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He accounted for nine of the points in Lithuania's run late in the third quarter.

Lithuania are the only undefeated team in Group B and appear to be bound for the Quarter-Finals. The defeat dropped Argentina to 2-1 to match Croatia's mark. Lithuania takes on Spain on Saturday in a re-match of the Final of EuroBasket 2015, a day which will also see the much-anticipated match-up between Argentina and hosts Brazil plus Croatia vs. Nigeria. Spain must beat Lithuania to advance to the medal round.
