It's official: Nets sign Jeremy Lin to a multi-year contract

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

The Brooklyn Nets officially announced the signing of point guard Jeremy Lin to a multi-year contract. The terms were not released by the team, as is customary, but the contract is reported to be 3 years, $36 million. And, of course, Lin signed the contract on Snapchat and celebrated with some Cheetos.

From the release:

"We are excited to welcome Jeremy to Brooklyn," said Nets’ General Manager Sean Marks. "He is a high character and competitive individual who will fit our culture moving forward, as well as the style of play that Kenny will be implementing. Jeremy is a proven veteran point guard with strong leadership qualities, who is an obvious fit in this system and city."

High character, system guys seems to be a focus for Marks and Atkinson. Lin should fit in nicely to a team that's searching for a leader and an identity. Still more to come from the Nets, but this one is officially...official.
