Just hours after a report stating the Brooklyn Nets had offered free agent Jared Dudley a 2-year, $18 million contract, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical announced that the Phoenix Suns had signed him to a 3-year, $30 million.
Jared Dudley has reached a 3-year, $30M deal with Suns, sources tell @TheVertical.

So, there you have it, Dudley will not be playing for the Nets next season, as the Suns decided to go for the third year -- it was assumed that Phoenix would have the upper hand here, due to their past relationship.
Now, the Nets will have to turn their sights elsewhere for a "d-and-3" wing, who also might be able to provide a little veteran presence in the locker room. Though, those things can be mutually exclusive, and they don't have to grab both in one player.
NBA free agency is fast and frantic!
