Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, taking questions from Nets fans suggested Monday night that the Nets and two free agent point guards, Rajon Rondo and Brandon Jennings, have "mutual interest."
Was told interest in both Rondo and Jennings is mutual. We'll see what that translates to in offers and others. https://t.co/Gzbjyw9aam— Steve Kyler (@stevekylerNBA) June 27, 2016
Kyler gave no further details. Both Rondo and Jennings are unrestricted free agents who a couple of years ago would have garnered a lot more interest, but Rondo, now 30, has had both a knee injury and run-ins with coaches, but played well last year with the Kings. Jennings, 26, may not be fully recovered from a ruptured left achilles suffered 18 months ago. The Pistons traded him at the end of last season to the Magic, who don't seem to have any interest in re-signing him.
Both have been long rumored to be of interest to the Nets, but there's been little to no confirmation. How much would they command in free agency? The opening bid would likely to be in the low to mid eight figures.
