With word that the Nets are trading Thaddeus Young for a first round pick comes the question what else do they have to offer. Here's a quick primer... post-trade
Players:
--Brook Lopez, a 20/8 center who's just turned 28 and is owed $44 million over next two seasons (with injury protection). He also has a 15% trade kicker;
--Jarrett Jack, an injured 13/7 point guard who's about to turn 33 and is owed $6.3 million of which only $500,000 is guaranteed. Nets must decide on his option/guarantee by June 30. A team trading for him would also have right to buy him out at $500,000.
--Bojan Bogdanovic, a 10/3 shooting guard who just turned 27 and is on an expiring contract that will pay him $3.5 million. He too has a 15% trade kicker;
--Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, a 5/5 small forward who's 21 and still on his rookie contract worth a maximum of $5.3 million over three years. Missed 50 games;
--Chris McCullough, a 5/3 power forward who's 21 and still on his rookie contract worth a maximum of $4.7 million over three years. Missed 50 games;
--Sean Kilpatrick, an 11/2 shooting guard who's 26 and has two years, one guaranteed at $980,000, another non guaranteed at $1.05 million.
Draft picks:
--the 20th and 55th pick in the 2016 Draft;
---first round picks starting in 2020; second round picks starting in 2022;
--a protected second round pick acquired from Indiana (Details to come)
--right to swap first round picks with Boston in 2017.
Cash:
--$5.4 million available between now and June 30; $3.5 million available starting July 1.
Trade exceptions:
--$1.36 million that expires June 27;
--$2.17 million that expires June 30;
Cannot be used to buy a pick, can be used to balance a Draft Day trade, can be used to take players off waivers. Useless when new cap kicks in July 1.
MLE:
--$2.89 million remainder on MLE. Expires June 30. Can only be used in very odd circumstances.
Cap space:
--More than $50 million starting July 1. Enough for two max deals.
