We wrote Sunday about the Nets chances of acquiring a draft pick, first or second round, in this year's draft. As every sentient Nets fan knows, Brooklyn traded its 2016 first rounder to Boston three years ago and swapped its second rounder with the Clippers way back in 2011, leaving the team with only the 55th pick.
Now, Alex Kennedy tweets the Nets are likely to move into the first round.
People around the NBA expect the Nets to acquire a first-round pick. A rival exec and agent each confidently said, "They will get a pick."— Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) June 13, 2016
No details, at least by Sunday night, but Kennedy has been saying for several days that the the Nets --and the Knicks-- want to move into the draft.
The Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks are each aggressively trying to acquire at least one pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, per sources.— Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) June 7, 2016
As we noted Sunday, it is highly unlikely that the Nets would be able to use its $3.4 million in cash considerations to buy their way into the first round. Sounds interesting.
