The Brooklyn Nets "won" the 3rd pick in the 2016 NBA Draft during Tuesday night's Lottery. Of course, that only means that they'll have to hand the pick over to the Boston Celtics. Why? Well, you know why. But...
The Nets pick belongs to the Boston Celtics, because, well, they trade that pick in the deal that brought Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry to Brooklyn. The Celtics had a 15.6 percent chance at the top pick and a 46.9 percent at a top three pick. Thankfully, we won't have to deal with this again.
Wait, what?
Anyway, the worst is seemingly behind us, for now, as they don't have to watch the Celtics draft Ben Simmons on their behalf.
The summer officially starts with new GM Sean Marks and new head coach Kenny Atkinson evaluating talent, along with their staff, to improve on their meager 2015-16 season. Here's to looking up, right?
We can now put the big nightmare to rest, which is a good thing.
