Nets tap San Antonio tree again, hiring "strategic planning coordinator" from Spurs

LinkedIn

Sean Marks apparently isn't done tapping the San Antonio tree.  Although nothing's been announced, the Nets front office directory lists Andrew Baker, until recently a "quality assurance assistant" with the Spurs, as the Nets' "strategic planning coordinator," a new position.

According to Baker's LinkedIn page, he joined the Nets this month after working with the Spurs for nearly a year.  Marks of course was assistant GM during that same period.  Baker is the second Marks hire with Spurs experience  Last week, he named Trajan Langdon as his assistant GM.  Langdon began his front office career with the Spurs, serving as a pro scout from 2012-15, and was a member of the team’s front office during their 2013-14 championship season.  Marks was a Spurs assistant coach on that title team.

Baker, a lawyer, had previously been a basketball operations and legal intern for the Spurs while attending Tulane Law School.  He had also worked as an intern for Madison Square Garden, the Mets and New Orleans Saints.
