The Brooklyn Nets, after a trying 48 hours in which it seemed like the deal would crumble, have hired Sean Marks away from the San Antonio Spurs to be the teams General Manager. In all, it would seem as if the Internet, experts and fans have responded positively to the hire.
Here are just a few of those reactions:
Criticized Prokhorov yesterday but gotta be props today. Luring Marks out of San Antonio when Spurs badly wanted him to stay ... it's a win

Quite a turnaround for the Nets. Excited to see how Sean does in the job. Good guy, super well-respected around the league.

Congrats to Marksy, but even bigger congrats to the Nets. Best move they've done since opening the Barclays Center https://t.co/uU5FSdy40c

Brooklyn has a great market, great facilities, deep pocketed owner. This is a good job https://t.co/DNvqjIN1Y5

"Marksy, it's Pop and RC! Congrats! So, uhh, we got some trade ideas for ya." pic.twitter.com/txgswZhe8q

I'll believe the Nets made the right hire when he gets picks for Bargnani like Ujiri did.

"Hey Vlade, it's Sean Marks."
Working theory: Prokhorov hired Sean Marks so he’d have a GM he could look up to.

Nets obviously excited about new GM Sean Marks. They hope to model themselves after the Spurs. Smart move, but easier said than done

And then one idiot:
Who? I have not heard this name. https://t.co/Lq9prLKhfm

Again, it's been generally positive. Of course, Marks now has to step into the job just hours before the trade deadline.
And from the looks of things, he's already pretty busy.
Several teams with interest in trading for Brooklyn's Thaddeus Young already trying to reach Sean Marks to see where Nets stand on him.
