Whitehead out with concussion

New, comments
NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves at Brooklyn Nets Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Isaiah Whitehead has been diagnosed with a concussion after experiencing symptoms today and completing an evaluation by team medical personnel.

Per the NBA’s concussion policy, Whitehead will remain out until he is symptom free and complies with all NBA mandated return-to-play protocols. Status updates will be provided as appropriate.

In the first quarter Tuesday Gorgui Dieng stepped on Whitehead’s head – forcing Whitehead to leave the game. He did return and facilitated the Brooklyn offense efficiently. He was a plus-12 on the night with six points, seven assists and most importantly, only two turnovers.

WIth Whitehead and Jeremy Lin out, and Greivis Vasquez waived, expect Randy Foye and Yogi Ferrell to play big minutes at the point along with Sean Kilpatrick.
