"Stars and Stripes" back next season? Looks that way

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Here's one thing we think we know about this season.  The Nets will be wearing those throwback New York Nets "Stars and Stripes" jerseys, the ones with the NETS on the front and the ABA stars down the side.  The jersey and matching shorts were a big hit last season as the Nets wore them at Barclays five times between March 6 and the end of the season ... when made their successful playoff push.

Willie Reed tweeted out pictures of his No. 33 on Wednesday to express his joy at finally being part of an NBA team, not just a 10-day wonder.

The New York Nets won the ABA championship in 1974 and 1976, led by Julius Erving, while playing in the then-new Nassau Coliseum.
