On Friday, the Nets took Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to Rockefeller Center for a Sports Illustrated interview, in which he talked about a lot of things, like which superstars he tries to model his game after, his Philadelphia hoops heritage and whether he can be a leader as a rookie. He didn't back down on any of it. Not our Rondae!
Specifically, he was asked if in light of Deron Williams' departure, does he think he can be a leader.
"Basketball, you got to show that you can be out there. Show that you can do those things. If you show those things, no matter who you are, no matter how old you are, people follow good things and I feel with that, on top of that, I got a good smile. and I got a good personality. that they will follow and I'm willing to do what it takes to help, make it easier for everybody. So it should be a smooth transition, I believe."
RHJ added that he chooses to live his life by one word, by being happy and that it's a big part of his success. Here's some excerpts. The full interview can be seen in the link below.
First who he models his game after...
Who he'd pick as his starting five of Philadelphia area NBA players, putting himself at the 3 "of course!"
He also offers a tutorial on how to shimmy at the free throw line...

Lastly, how, as long as he can produce, he thinks he can lead, rookie or not...
Smooth transition, huh? Think that might get some vets riled up? Nah.
