'Hallelujah, baby!', writes Mikhail Prokhorov in a letter to Nets fans

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

It came down to the final game of the season, but the Brooklyn Nets made their way into the 2015 NBA Playoffs, thanks in part to a little help from the Memphis Grizzlies. What looked to be a long shot became a reality and here, on the eve of Game One against the Atlanta Hawks, Nets' owner Mikhail Prokhorov composed a letter to Nets fans thanking them for their support.

Here it is, complete with two quotes from Yogi Berra:

Dear Nets Fans,

As my time as an NBA team owner goes on, I’m learning to respect the wisdom of American philosopher and statesman Yogi Berra more and more each day. So, I’m starting and ending my post-season letter to you with quotes from my new hero.

"I want to thank you for making this day necessary." - Yogi Berra

It really came down to the wire, but we’re in the playoffs and hallelujah, baby! This is, in large part, thanks to the patience and the support of our true fans. You’ve been with us during the good, the bad, and the ugly. At the end of our last season game, you stood and applauded the Nets players, even when we didn’t know for sure whether we’d make it to the postseason. You were with us when we rose, when we fell, and when we rose again. We are grateful.

Now, as we gear up for another round, I just wanted to wish the whole Brooklyn Nets community a wonderful playoffs. Let’s show the very best we are capable of and enjoy every minute of this great sport.

As the genius legend Yogi Berra said, "You give 100 percent in the first half of the game, and, if that isn't enough, in the second half you give what's left."

Go Nets!!!

"Hallelujah, baby" is right!

Game One is Sunday at 5:30 PM on TNT and YES Network.
