Markel Brown has been diagnosed with a mild MCL sprain in his right knee, the Brooklyn Nets announced Friday afternoon. Brown was injured on January 2 in his NBA D-League debut and it was initially called a bruised knee, the Nets announced following the game. The team said that Brown will be re-evaulated next week by team doctors.
Nets now say Markel Brown has a knee sprain after saying he suffered a bruised knee last week when he hurt it. Will be reevaluated next week

The Brown injury looked pretty gruesome initially.
Brown and fellow rookie Cory Jefferson were recalled from Maine by the Nets on Thursday.
