The Nets have recalled Cory Jefferson and Markel Brown from the D-League's Maine Red Claws, less than two weeks after they were re-assigned.
The Nets announcement...
Brown appeared in one game while on assignment, scoring seven points in eight minutes before exiting the game with a bruised right knee on Jan. 2 at Westchester. Jefferson appeared in two games off the bench, averaging 10.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in 24.5 minutes per game. He recorded 10 points, a team-high 11 rebounds and two blocks in 25 minutes on Jan. 2 at Westchester and 11 points, nine rebounds and four blocks on Jan. 3 versus Delaware.
Brown and Jefferson were originally assigned to the D-League on Jan. 1.
There was no word in the announcement regarding Brown's availability. Earlier in the week, he was reported to be day-to-day. Brown has played more sparingly than Jefferson, who actually started one game vs. Philadelphia where he scored 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. In addition to his bruised knee, Brown has suffered from a fractured hand and a stomach virus he picked up on the team's preseason trip to China. Brown has said he believes he can play some point guard.
