Chris Mannix of SI.com fielded a few NBA questions in this week's Mailbag, one of which had to do with whether or not the Brooklyn Nets were looking to trade big man Brook Lopez.
Mannix said that the Nets were looking to "make some kind of move," then mentioning, however, that the team does want to stay in playoff contention this season. He also goes on to applaud coach Lionel Hollins for benching both Deron Williams and Brook Lopez, in favor of Jarrett Jack and Mason Plumlee, respectively.
He then went on to say that, as far as trades are concerned, Lopez is the "most likeliest" to be moved, as a "secondary" piece for a team to build around. Mannix then mentions Williams' age and contract, in relation to the fact that there isn't a big trade market out there for him.
In the end, though, Mannix says that he doesn't necessarily see a deal happening, at least not for one of the "big money" players on the Nets. "Right now, it doesn’t look like Brook Lopez or anyone else on the Nets is going anywhere," Mannix concludes.
