In an interview most noted for its dis of the Knicks, Lionel Hollins most important line was about Deron Williams.
"Deron has been looking very good. I told him couple of days ago, man you look pain free, you're moving very well," the Nets coach told Boomer & Carton on WFAN.
"He's looking for a big year . I'm looking for a big year out of him. He's healthy. Brook is healthy..."
Hollins then added, quietly, "He's back...
Remarkably relaxed and confident, Hollins also fielded questions about the pressure of playing before New York fans compared to Memphis fans ("Very knowledgable, in tune with their team, very very passionate. That's going to be really different"); the team's depth ("in the past, I didn't have a lot of depth. I have no objection to going 10 deep."); what he likes about his team ("skilled with high IQ."); and his system ("We're going to try to put together a system that allows the majority of out players to be successful.")
At the end, Carton told Hollins that if he beats the Knicks on November 7, he can eat free at Boomer and Carton's Kitchen inside Barclays Center. "Well," responded Hollins. "I guess I'll be eating all year."
