League sources tell NetsDaily that the Nets will open the 2014-15 season vs. the Celtics in Boston on October 29, then after a second road game,, will return to Brooklyn to face the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 3.

The league schedule will be unveiled Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in an NBA TV special. The schedule is a closely guarded secret but news of some games has been leaking out the last few days. The Knicks, the Daily News reports, will open vs. the Bulls, for example.  Other than the opening games, NetsDaily has also learned the team will not be playing on either Christmas Day or New Year's Eve, as they have the last two years.

The opener vs Boston would have given Celtics fans another chance to honor Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce but Pierce has moved on to Washington.

Expect Jay-Z to be on hand for the Nets home opener. Not only will Brooklyn be playing in a high profile game, but his RocNation's biggest star client, is Kevin Durant.

The Nets will play the Celtics three times in nine days. They play two preseason game, one at Barclays Center on Sunday, October 19, in an afternoon preseason game at Barclays Center,  then again October 22 in Boston. Opening night will be a reunion for the two teams' top picks, the Celtics' Marcus Smart and the Nets' Markel Brown who played together at Oklahoma State last season. .
